Akkarakalam Homestay is located at the Kainakary village of the Alappuzha district in the state of Kerala. The old cellar called Ara where rice used to be stored as well as the other rooms are decorated and renovated keeping the old charms intact and still has the fragrance pof the olden times. Even the porcelain flick switch of the olden days have not been changed. Only the toilets and the open baths are of the modern facilities to keep pace with the modern times. The red oxide floor , the wooden furniture , wooden walls etc have been maintained even now to bring back the reminiscences of the yester years.

Akkarakalam Memoirs Homestay is located on the banks of the tributary of the pampa river. the homestay is accessible by water and takes only 5 minutes from Nedumudy on the Alappuzha Changanassery route. the homestay is cool and shady with various trees namely Arecanut, Coconut, cinnamon, mango, guava and several other tropical trees. You can have a refreshing walk through the plantations whenever you feel like.
