In the State of Kerala, there are 14 districts, 21 revenue divisions, 14 District Panchayats, 63 taluks, 152 CD blocks, 1466 revenue villages, 999 Gram panchayats, 5 corporations and 60 municipalities.
Each and every district is governed by a district Collector, who is an IAS (Indian Administrative Service) officer of the Kerala Cadre and is appointed by the Government of the State of Kerala.
Alappuzha is a district, with Alappuzha town as the headquarters, is in the state of Kerala with 6 Taluks, namely Ambalapuzha, Chengannur, Cherthala, Karthikappally, Kuttanad and Mavelikkara.
Ernakulam is a district, with Kakkanad as the headquarters, is in the state of Kerala with 7 Taluks , namely Aluva, Kanayannur, Kochi, Kothamangalam, Kunnathunad, Muvattupuzha and Paravur.
Idukki is a district, with Painavu as the headquarters, is in the state of Kerala with 4 Taluks, namely, Devikulam, Peerumade, Thodupuzha and Udumbanchola.
Kollam is a district, with Kollam as the headquarters, is in the state of Kerala with 5 Taluks, namely, Karunagappally, Kollam, Kottarakkara, Kunnathoor and Pathanapuram.
Kannur is a district, with Kannur town as the headquarters, is in the state of Kerala with 3 Taluks , namely Kannur, Thaliparamba and Thalassery
Kasaragod is a district, with Kasaragod as the headquarters, is in the state of Kerala with 2 Taluks , namely Kasaragod and Hosdurg
Kottayam is a district, with Kottayam town as the headquarters, is in the state of Kerala with 6 Taluks , namely , Changanassery, Kanjirappally, Kottayam, Meenachil and Vaikom.
Kozhikode is a district, with Kozhikpode town as the headquarters, is in the state of Kerala with 3 Taluks , namely koyilandi, Kozhikode and Vadakara
Malappuram is a district, with Malappuram as the headquarters, is in the state of Kerala with 6 Taluks , namely, Eranad, Nilmbuir, Perinthalmanna, Ponnani, Thirur and Tirurangadi,
Palakkad is a district, with Palakkad as the headquarters, is in the state of Kerala with 5 Taluks , namely Alathur, Chittur, Mannarkad, Ottapalam, Palakkad
Pathanamthitta is a district, with Pathanamthitta as the headquarters, is in the state of Kerala with 5 Taluks , namely , Adoor, Kozhencherry, Mallapalli, Ranni and Thiruvalla.
Thrissur is a district, with Thrissur as the headquarters, is in the state of Kerala with 5 Taluks , namely, Chavakkad, Kodungalor Mukundapuram, Thalapilly and Thrissur.
Thiruvananthapuram is a district, with Thiruvananthapuram city as the headquarters, is in the state of Kerala with 4 Taluks , namely CHirayinkeezhu, Nedumangad, Neyyattinkara and Thiruvananthapuram
Wayanad is a district, with Kalpetta as the headquarters, is in the state of Kerala with 6 Taluks , namely Mananthavady, Sultan Bathery and Vythiri.
